About Us

The story began 15 years ago when then the Queen, Sirikit, made a policy to help the fishermen. Her plan was to build a mangrove forest which would become a new biotope for small fish and crabs as the humus is a big source of food. People from all over the region and companies came to help. This never stopped and like this people from other regions and tourists found their way to Ban Laem.

In February 2012 Mr. Taksin Minman (president), Mr. Santi Himma (secretary), Mr. Somya Baorisut, Mr. Suleyman Whongshon, Mr.Marut Mameen and Mr.Yuttana  Kariyawongwanich turned this into the Banlaem homestay and fishing tour. Like this they want to improve their services, add extra activities and offer a place to sleep.

At the end of February Wouter Cocquyt met Mr. Taksin by coincidence and after hearing about their ambitions he wanted to help them. He made this website and tried to perfection the activities as well as telling them about the basic needs of other travellers. His photos, which you can see on this website, are hopefully good enough to encourage you to come here.
